Allie in Wanderland
Artist at Home
Allie at White Sands National Monument, New Mexico. 2018.
Allie Canavan is an emerging artist currently living in between Las Cruces, New Mexico and Seattle, Washington. As a young person growing up in New Mexico, Allie developed a critical eye for observing and documenting the natural world. Her work is primarily surrealistic, derived from an intersection between natural science, social justice, and emotional conflict. She received her BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington in 2013 and pursued additional coursework in human evolution and biological sciences. In 2016, she created artwork everyday for a year, leading to two invitations (2016, 2017) to participate in local art exhibitions in Seattle curated by RAW. Currently, Allie is pursuing continuing education through the University of Washington's Natural Science Illustration Program.
